As you all know, I’ve been on tour since March. I was on a five day holiday this week in Rome and my last country to visit is Germany.
While in Poland, my foot started hurting. I tried to push through the pain and keep going, but by the time I made it to Italy and hurt it again, I knew something was seriously wrong. By yesterday, I could not put any pressure on it to walk.
Long story short, I have been put on bed rest for the next few weeks until my foot can heal. Because of this, I had to fly home today and have to reschedule the remainder of my signings for Germany.
I can’t tell you how sorry I am for this. If there were a way for me to comfortably continue my travels, I would absolutely do it. But I have been in a lot of pain and so far it’s just getting worse with each day, so I know I need to listen to the doctors and stay off my feet until it heals to avoid a break.
My apologies to DTV, my German publishers who have set up fantastic events for my stay. I appreciate your support and understanding of this matter. My sincerest apologies also to the readers who have made travel arrangements to get to these events. I do not take rescheduling a trip lightly, as I have only had to do it a couple of times. Unfortunately, Germany was one of the other two times I’ve had to do it. This means I owe my German readers a lot, and I promise to make it up to you.
We don’t have exact dates yet of the reschedule, but it will be this year, likely close to the end of September when I’ll be back in France. As soon as we have exact dates, I will share those to all of you.
Again, I am so sorry. I wish there were more I could do. I will see you all Germany in a few months when I travel back to Europe again, so hopefully you guys will understand and know that not going to Germany this time around saddens me as much as it saddens you. But I will be back and I will make it great and I will push for no limits on any books and I will sign everything you bring me until they push me off the stage. I promise.
All my love,
