If there’s one thing I’ve learned this past year and a half, it’s that change is inevitable. And you have to be susceptible to it, or you’ll be left behind. I don’t like to be left behind, especially at Wal-Mart. SO! We have a big change.
A couple of big changes, actually, but you only get one today and it has to do with something very near and dear to my heart. SLAMMED.
When I self-published SLAMMED, I used Amazon’s cover creator through createspace because, well…I’ll be honest. I was making $9 an hour and living in a trailer and when I weighed the price of a good cover or feeding my children dinner, I chose my children.
So anyway, the cover for SLAMMED wasn’t something I would have picked had I had the means to hire a cover designer. But that cover means a lot to me and it has encased the words of the book that have completely changed my life. And I know it means a lot to a lot of you, too.
BUT! Here’s where the change comes in. With the addition of THIS GIRL in the SLAMMED SERIES, we thought it would be better if the covers were a little more cohesive. And let’s be honest, SLAMMED and POR don’t really look anything alike, so it’s hard to tie a third book into that series and make the cover similar.
The covers have been changed. Completely. Drastically. They’re completely different and while they’re completely different and will take a lot of us some getting used to because we’re so used to the other covers, I’m hoping it will garner a little more interest from readers and boost sales.
It’s certainly bittersweet because I will always love the old covers and am thankful I’ll always have them on my bookshelves. And if you want the old covers, too, then hurry up and purchase them here before they change the paperback, which will happen soon.
I’m posting the new cover for SLAMMED here, but the cover for POINT OF RETREAT will have to wait until next weekend.
Also, we’ve got something seriously incredible in store for the cover of Losing Hope, which will be revealed in a couple of weeks. So keep an eye out for that.
Without further ado, here’s our new SLAMMED.
